Who We Are
Yankee Goldsmiths opened for business in June 2004 primarily as a wholesale jewelry repair shop and secondarily as a retail jewelry store. Over the past three years, we have gradually transitioned away from our wholesale accounts to focus on retail jewelry sales and service.
We offer a wide variety of affordable, quality jewelry from classic favorites to unique handmade pieces. As a small business, we are committed to quick, friendly, and professional service.
We have Maine made jewelry, made by our goldsmiths right here in Newport, Maine. We offer many choices for gemstones but specialize in tourmaline and opal. Our goldsmiths and owners are available right here at the store to do your on-site repair or custom-made piece of jewelry. We are affiliated with estatejewelry55.com

What we Do
Our Services
Design
We design our own award-winning, custom jewelry made in-store. We also offer redesigns of older pieces of jewelry to create a more modern look. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we can make it for you!
Setting
We have a wide variety of diamonds and gemstones to choose from for your custom jewelry design. We can set these stones any way you’d like. Some of the stone settings we offer include bead, bezel, channel, flush, gypsy, pave, and prong settings.
Finishing
we offer customization services, including refinishing, antiquing, rhodium plating, engraving, diamond cutting, high polishing, hammering, and many more!
Cleaning
Clean jewelry is beautiful jewelry. In order to keep your jewelry clean and beautiful, we offer free cleanings for up to 3 pieces of jewelry in-store.
Repairs
If your necklace or bracelet needs a new clasp, we offer a variety of different styles, including lobster claws, barrel clasps, and bails. For the chains on these pieces, we repair solder breaks, re-weaving, and re-braiding. We can also resize it for you. In addition to all of this we repair and offer replacement parts for your watch so that you can continue to keep track of time.
Appraisals
Our appraisals include gemstone identification, grading, color matching, and stone replacement matching. We provide written appraisals for your insurance company as well.
